pitara — object

Pitara, an old storybook, heavy enough that a child needs both hands. The cover is warm antique gold (#D4A843), darkened at the edges by decades of handling, in a material that reads as worn leather or aged cloth with softened corners. A diya-flame symbol is embossed in gold at the centre of the cover, with the word PITARA in small letters beneath it. The book simply closes — it has NO clasp, no buckle, no hook, no strap, no ribbon tie and no fastening of any kind anywhere on it. Nothing metal is attached to the cover
